Dr. Minas Chrysopoulo

Dr. Minas Chrysopoulo was recently named one of "America's Top Surgeons" for 2009. He is a board certifed breast reconstruction surgeon and has been practicing medicine since 1996. He was raised and educated in London, England. He is a graduate of the University of London where he received his bachelor of science degree in Advanced Anatomy and Morphology prior to completing his medical degree. Upon receiving his degree Dr. Chrysopoulo continued his training in general surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio prior to undertaking a fellowship in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He has also completed fellowships in burn surgery and burn reconstruction at Shriner's Burn Hospital for Children in Galveston, and hand surgery and microsurgery at the Indiana Hand Center.
As part of his dedication to the medical profession Dr. Chrysopoulo has held special appointments to the National Board of Medical Examiners and as a Clinical Assistant Professor with the University of Wisconsin Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery division. He is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, and is also an active member in the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the American Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery (ASRM), the Plastic Surgery Education Foundation (PSEF), the San Antonio International Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and the Texas Medical Society.
We are proud to report that Dr Chrysopoulo was recently named a recipient of the San Antonio Business Journal's "Top 40 Under Forty" Award. He was recently featured on KENS 5 News for using new technology to optimize breast reconstruction surgery, and was also the featured guest on "DeLeon's Dialogue", a radio show about surviving breast cancer. Dr Chrysopoulo's areas of special interest include breast reconstruction surgery (including the DIEP flap, TUG flap, and alloderm one-step procedures), minimally invasive (short scar) surgery of the breast (including breast lift and breast reduction), and all aspects of aesthetic (cosmetic) surgery. His expertise in body contouring techniques has also been featured in the national magazine ANEW.
