BRA Day 2016 – Closing the Loop on Breast Cancer with Breast Reconstruction Education
By: Courtney Floyd
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out and made our BRA (Breast Reconstruction Awareness) Day event so special. We had an amazing night celebrating life and spreading the word about the most advanced breast reconstruction procedure available today.
Breast reconstruction offers a way to help women feel whole again after breast cancer surgery. It restores something nature provided but cancer has taken away and is covered by insurance thanks to a 1998 Federal Mandate.
Unfortunately, many breast cancer patients are not offered the option of breast reconstruction after mastectomy or lumpectomy or are not informed of all their options!
Women have several reconstructive options available today ranging from implants to "flap" techniques which use the patient's own tissue to recreate a "natural", warm, soft breast.
At last night’s Breast Reconstruction Awareness Day celebration, the PRMA team joined together to close the loop on breast cancer!
