Brazilian Butt Lift | What To Expect

By: Dr. Ramon Garza III

What is a Brazilian Butt Lift?

The Brazilian Butt Lift is a procedure that aims to slim the waist and improve the shape of the buttocks.  Here is a quick overview of what to expect:

Your Consultation

During your consultation, your surgeon will discuss your goals for enhancing your figure. At this time, areas for liposuction and fat harvesting will be determined. After a detailed plan is established, the post-operative recovery phase will be discussed.

The Surgery

Liposuction is performed in a manner that accentuates the natural aesthetics of the female form. The fat taken during lipo is harvested, then re-injected in the buttock to improve shape. It is typical for 20-30% of the fat graft to be adsorbed over time. To account for this, a slight over correction is performed during the surgery.

Swelling is expected at all surgical sites and will subside over time. The final cosmetic outcome is not determined until 6-9 months after the surgery. This ensures the fat grafting has completely taken. Surgical compression garments should be worn around the abdomen at all times for the 3-4 weeks. Take care to avoid excessive pressure in the buttocks region and fat grafting sites to improve the overall fat graft "take.”
