Pay It Forward for Breast Cancer
By: Courtney Floyd
April 24th is national Pay It Forward Day! “Paying it forward” is an expression used to describe one person extending a kind act in the hopes that the beneficiary will continue to offer acts of kindness to others.
Breast Cancer patients and survivors alike can be seen all over the world performing acts of kindness to others in need. I challenge you today, and every day for that matter, to find a way to pay it forward!
Think about the day you were diagnosed with breast cancer or the first time you went in for a chemotherapy treatment. What did you need most? Is there something someone could have done that would have made the experience easier for you? An encouraging word, a hand to hold on to, or someone telling you there is light at the end of the tunnel are all simple acts of kindness that can positively impact someone’s life. Do you know a mom who is struggling with her fight against breast cancer? Perhaps she could really use a night out without the kids, a great meal, or help around the house.
There are so many ways we can all pay it forward to our breast cancer sisters! What ideas do you have?
