PRMA Plastic Surgery is hosting a Breast Reconstruction Awareness (BRA) Day event to increase awareness about post-mastectomy reconstructive surgery and honor breast cancer survivors.

The event will be on Wednesday, October 21st from 7-9 pm at The Event Center at Plaza Lecea in San Antonio, Texas. The event will include a presentation on breast reconstruction options by PRMA founder Dr. Peter Ledoux and a presentation on the importance of movement after breast reconstruction by Rachel Fey-Larsen, PT, CLT of Forte Rehabilitation Center. The evening will include door prizes, a show and tell room, live entertainment, a fashion show, fun take home activities, refreshments, and much more.

BRA Day is an initiative designed to promote education, awareness, and access regarding post-mastectomy breast reconstruction. BRA Day inspires women to know that life beyond breast cancer can be very fulfilling.

We must spread the word to breast cancer patients about their breast reconstruction options. Informing women of their reconstruction options before or at the time of diagnosis is critically important to improving life after breast cancer.

BRA Day is collaboration between the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, The Plastic Surgery Foundation, breast centers, nurse navigators, corporate partners, and breast cancer support groups.
