PRMA to Host BRA Day Event
By: Courtney Floyd
PRMA Plastic Surgery is hosting a Breast Reconstruction Awareness (BRA) Day event to increase awareness about post-mastectomy reconstructive surgery.
The event will be on Wednesday, October 15th from 6-8pm at PRMA’s Medical Center location. The event will include a breast reconstruction question and answer panel, door prizes, a show and tell room, crafts, refreshments, and much more. We look forward to celebrating this big day with you all!
BRA Day is an initiative designed to promote education, awareness, and access regarding post-mastectomy breast reconstruction. BRA Day inspires women to know that life beyond breast cancer can be very fulfilling.
The BRA Day 2014 theme is BRAve Faces. All women enduring breast cancer are incredibly brave and have their own unique journey, but they are also not alone! Together, we must spread the word to breast cancer patients about their breast reconstruction options. Informing women of their reconstruction options before or at the time of diagnosis is critically important to improving life after breast cancer.
BRA Day is collaboration between the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, The Plastic Surgery Foundation, breast centers, nurse navigators, corporate partners, and breast cancer support groups.
