Brazilian Butt Lift

Brazilian Butt Lift is a cosmetic procedure that transfers fat from liposuction to the buttocks. It is used to improve the contour of the buttocks and waistline. By taking the waistline in and increasing the fullness of the buttocks, a feminine hour-glass figure can be created.

How is the procedure performed?

The procedure is done in the operating room under general anesthesia. Your surgeon will mark areas of your abdomen, flanks, and trunk that will be used for liposuction and fat harvest. This fat is then transferred to areas of your buttocks that have been pre-determined by your surgeon during consultation.

What are the risks?

Poor contouring in the buttocks and liposuction areas are risks of the procedure. If there are irregularities, these can often be corrected in a revision surgery. A rare, but known risk of the procedure is fat embolism which can occur during fat transfer. Because of these risks, it is best to seek out a consultation from a plastic surgeon who is board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Plastic Surgeons and who performs fat grafting and liposuction frequently.

What to expect while healing?

Bruising and soreness are a normal part of the healing process. Special garments will be worn in the post operative recovery phase to assist with final contouring. Care should be taken to avoid pressure on your new buttocks. This is important because fat transferred to this area needs time "take" in its new location.

During your initial consultation, your surgeon will discuss with you what areas will be targeted in helping you reach your goals of a beautiful buttocks and figure. If you would like further information about this procedure or to schedule a consultation, please contact us here or call us at (800) 692-5565.
