My Biography
Dr. Minas Chrysopoulo is a microsurgeon, healthcare leader, and innovator in patient-centered care. Over more than two decades of clinical practice, he performed thousands of advanced breast reconstruction procedures, including pioneering work in DIEP flap surgery. His career has been marked by a deep commitment to empowering patients, improving outcomes, and mentoring the next generation of surgeons.
A change in the work, not the mission
Dr. Chrysopoulo joined PRMA Plastic Surgery in 2006, was elected President in 2017, and then took on the role of CEO in 2024, leading one of the country's premier practices for breast reconstruction. In September 2023, he was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis. By 2024, the disease had progressed to the point where operating was no longer possible, and he stepped fully into his role as CEO. He will continue as CEO through December 31, 2026, at which point he will hand the role to Dr. Pisano, a co-founder of PRMA, and shift his full focus to the Advanced Reconstructive Surgery Alliance (ARSA), PRMA's parent company.
Dr. Chrysopoulo also currently serves as Head of Clinical Operations at ARSA. Patients can learn more about ARSA's clinical network through The Institute for Advanced Reconstruction (IFAR), ARSA's patient-facing clinical site. In this role, he draws on his experience as a surgeon and practice leader to help ARSA's member practices adopt the same clinical standards and training that helped build PRMA's outcomes, widening access to advanced reconstructive techniques for patients across the country.
Dr. Chrysopoulo's dedication to innovation extends beyond his leadership roles. He is the founder of Toliman HealthTM and the creator of the Breast Advocate® App, a mobile technology built around shared decision-making, the collaborative process where the physician and patient work together to reach the treatment decision that's best for the patient, weighing the clinical evidence, the physician's experience, and the patient's own preferences and values. Studies show this approach improves both outcomes and patient satisfaction. Breast Advocate gives patients the information they need to be a genuine partner in that decision.
He is also the founder of InviCible SkincareTM, born from his patients' need for a safe, evidence-based scar care option after breast reconstruction. Formulated fragrance-free and without preservatives, parabens, or phthalates, it proved gentle enough that patients kept using it well after their scars healed for the formula's anti-aging benefits, layering it under makeup each morning, a habit that became InviCible Primer+TM, the brand's current flagship product.
With a strong commitment to mentorship, Dr. Chrysopoulo actively supports the professional growth of surgeons across the ARSA network, fostering their development as skilled practitioners and compassionate leaders. His combination of surgical experience, systems thinking, and dedication to patient advocacy continues to shape reconstructive surgery and healthcare delivery well beyond the operating room.
Recognition and affiliations
Dr. Chrysopoulo is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the American Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery (ASRM), the Plastic Surgery Education Foundation (PSEF), and the Texas Society of Plastic Surgeons (TSPS). He has authored and co-authored book chapters and peer-reviewed articles, speaks at regional, national, and international meetings, and serves on several ASPS breast reconstruction committees. He has been recognized as one of America's Top Surgeons, named to the San Antonio Business Journal's Top 40 Under 40 (2007), and has received multiple Doctors' Choice Awards for Plastic Surgery. He and the PRMA team were also honored with the San Antonio Business Journal's Health Care Heroes Award for innovation in medical technology, procedures, programs, and services.
