Dr. Tyler Merceron
As a native Texan, Dr. Merceron is excited to return to his roots in San Antonio. He earned his bachelor degrees in Plan II Honors and Cell & Molecular Biology at the University of Texas at Austin and continued on to medical school at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. During his studies, he became keenly interested in tissue transplantation and pursued a research fellowship in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine at the Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine, and then completed medical school in 2015. He completed residencies in both General Surgery and Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. Early in his training, Dr. Merceron developed a passion for the restoration of anatomic form and physiologic function and the concept of replacing “like with like”. To this end, he completed his surgical training with a fellowship in Reconstructive Microsurgery at the renowned University of Pennsylvania / Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia, PA, focusing on autologous breast reconstruction, peripheral nerve surgery, and limb salvage / orthoplastic surgery.
With the expertise and support of the team at PRMA, Dr. Merceron is committed to providing his patients with a personalized journey through the healing process and achieving his patients’ aesthetic and reconstructive goals in a collaborative manner every step of the way.
