Ensuring a Comfortable Stay for Out-of-Town Patients

When traveling for surgery, having comfortable accommodations is essential. That’s why we’ve partnered with several organizations that help those in need access free or low-cost lodging. Specifically for breast reconstruction after cancer patients, these programs ease your financial burden and provide reassurance during uncertain times.

Hotel Assistance Programs

American Cancer Society (ACS) Hope Lodge

San Antonio hotels partner with the American Cancer Society to provide lodging for breast cancer patients traveling for treatment. Accommodations are available at little to no cost, but space is limited and advance notice is required.

Who it’s for: Breast cancer patients traveling at least 50 miles for treatment; one caregiver may accompany the patient

Availability: Lodging is available Monday through Thursday on a space-available basis

How to apply: Patients must request accommodations at least two weeks in advance

Important Note: Assistance is not guaranteed and depends on hotel availability. PRMA recommends making backup plans with a contracted hotel

Cancer Support Community - Airbnb Program

A partnership between Cancer Support Community and Airbnb provides free housing for cancer patients and caregivers who meet specific eligibility criteria.

Who it’s for: Cancer patients and caregivers meeting geographic and income qualifications

Holiday Inn

Holiday Inn has partnered with PRMA to provide discounted lodging for patients traveling to San Antonio for breast reconstruction. Availability is limited, so we encourage booking in advance to secure accommodations.

Who it’s for:  Patients of PRMA travelling to San Antonio for care

Rose's House

Rose was Phil and Pat’s neighbor for 27 years. When Rose passed away in 2017 after her battle with pancreatic cancer and heart disease, Phil and Pat purchased her home and lovingly renovated it in her honor. After walking through Pat’s own breast cancer journey, they chose to turn Rose’s House into a comforting “home away from home” for breast cancer patients — a tribute to Rose’s kind heart and the compassion she showed others.
 
Who it’s for: Today, Rose’s House exists to support patients and their caregivers during one of the most difficult times of their lives. Phil and Pat understand the unique needs of healing because they have lived this experience themselves. They treat every guest like family, offering warmth and understanding while still respecting privacy. They live nearby and are always available to answer questions or lend support, just a phone call or text away.

The Westin

The Westin San Antonio North has partnered with PRMA to provide discounted lodging for patients traveling to San Antonio for breast reconstruction. Availability is limited, so we encourage booking in advance to secure accommodations.
 
Who it’s for: Patients of PRMA travelling to San Antonio for care.
 
How to apply: To book your room and ensure a recliner is available, The Westin has encouraged patients to call (210) 691-8888 and mention PRMA Plastic Surgery. If you’d like to book online, you can visit https://www.marriott.com/en-us/hotels/satwn-the-westin-san-antonio-north and enter corporate code: 81P at checkout.
