When traveling for surgery, having comfortable accommodations is essential. That’s why we’ve partnered with several organizations that help those in need access free or low-cost lodging. Specifically for breast reconstruction after cancer patients, these programs ease your financial burden and provide reassurance during uncertain times.

Hotel Assistance Programs

American Cancer Society (ACS) Hope Lodge

San Antonio hotels partner with the American Cancer Society to provide lodging for breast cancer patients traveling for treatment. Accommodations are available at little to no cost, but space is limited and advance notice is required.

Who it’s for: Breast cancer patients traveling at least 50 miles for treatment; one caregiver may accompany the patient

Availability: Lodging is available Monday through Thursday on a space-available basis

How to apply: Patients must request accommodations at least two weeks in advance

Important Note: Assistance is not guaranteed and depends on hotel availability. PRMA recommends making backup plans with a contracted hotel

Joe's House

A nationwide resource that connects patients with low-cost or free lodging options near treatment centers.

Who it’s for: Patients needing temporary housing for medical treatment

Cancer Support Community - Airbnb Program

A partnership between Cancer Support Community and Airbnb provides free housing for cancer patients and caregivers who meet specific eligibility criteria.
