Major Milestone at PRMA – 81 DIEP Flaps Performed in October

81 DIEP Flap in October PRMA Plastic Surgery

When PRMA Plastic Surgery first opened their doors in 1994, co-founders Dr. Pisano and Dr. Ledoux had one goal—providing the San Antonio community access to advanced breast reconstruction options.

Fast forward 25 years, and the practice has well exceeded this goal!

PRMA has become a world recognized center for advanced breast reconstruction. Having performed over 8,500 flap-based procedures (like the DIEP flap), providing patients today’s cutting-edge lymphedema surgery procedures and expanding patient care well beyond the south Texas region, PRMA is rebuilding lives after breast cancer on a record-breaking scale worldwide.

Today we celebrate another unsurpassed milestone for the practice!

For the month of October, the surgeons of PRMA have successfully completed 81 DIEP flap breast reconstruction procedures! This makes PRMA one of the very few centers in the world to achieve such a high volume of flaps in a single month.

“It is more than an honor to serve our patients and to provide advanced reconstructive procedures on such a large scale,” shares Dr. Arishita. “We are truly thankful for our amazing staff as well. Without them, we would not be able to serve our patients with the high level of professional care that we provide.”
