Liposuction, Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty) & Body Lift at PRMA Plastic Surgery

What are cosmetic surgery options to improved body contour?

Patients seeking an improvement in body contour are usually candidates for either liposuction, a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty), a body lift, or some combination of these procedures. Our experienced plastic surgeons help patients determine which treatment option will give them the best results, and what is most appropriate for their ultimate goal.

Whether you are seeking a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty), liposuction, or have had gastric bypass surgery and want to know more about body contouring, we can help.

PRMA offers the following body sculpting procedures:

Liposuction

For patients who have experienced difficulty losing weight in localized areas of the body, liposuction may be the solution. In certain parts of the body – including the lower stomach, thighs, hips, under the chin, and the love handles – fatty deposits can build up that cannot be eliminated with conventional weight-loss methods. Liposuction removes those fatty deposits instantly and re-sculpts the body. The result will be a more flattering contour and a smoother figure.

Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty)

Abdominoplasty, or “tummy tuck”, is designed to tighten the loose skin of the stomach and strengthen the muscles in the abdominal wall, literally “tucking” and strengthening your stomach. An abdominoplasty is often combined with liposuction for body sculpting purposes, to eliminate excess fat and skin.

If you have had multiple child births or find that the skin around your abdomen has been irreparably stretched, you may be a candidate for an abdominoplasty. We urge patients to remember that this procedure, while common, is nevertheless considered major surgery and will result in a significant scar. Your expected results will depend upon the condition of your skin (elasticity), and the amount of excess fat and skin that needs to be removed.

Mini Tummy Tuck

For patients with loose skin and excess fat concentrated in the lower abdomen, we offer a mini-abdominoplasty, known as a “mini tummy-tuck.” This procedure requires less skin removal and a smaller incision, and may be a better option for patients who are looking for a less complex procedure.

Body Contouring Following Gastric Bypass Surgery

Gastric bypass surgery is growing in popularity throughout San Antonio and across the nation. As a result, our plastic surgery practice has incorporated body contouring procedures designed specifically for patients who have lost a large volume of weight and been left with a large amount of excess skin.

The reality of gastric bypass surgery is that after such a significant amount of weight loss, your skin will most likely be unable to shrink to accommodate your new figure. You may be left with with unsightly folds of skin around your upper arms, breasts, stomach, buttocks and thighs. We can create a customized treatment plan that can combine procedures including a breast lift, arm lift, abdominoplasty, thigh lift, body lift, and liposuction to reshape and sculpt your new, slimmer body.

Whether you are seeking a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty), liposuction, or have had gastric bypass surgery and want to know more about body contouring, we can help.
